County Reveals Proposed Westbard Concept
Charrette Process Ends
After a week of discussions with community residents, business owners, civic organizations and government agencies, the Montgomery County Planning Department on Tuesday night revealed its Westbard Sector Concept Framework Plan at Westland Middle School in Bethesda.
More than 200 people attended the public meeting, the culmination of a charrette designed to gather input from all parties interested in creating a new vision for development in Westbard for the next 20 years. The current Westbard Sector Plan is one of the oldest in the county, dating to 1982.
On Dec. 18, county planning staff will report on the charrette process and outcomes to County Planning Board members. In December, January and February, staff will prepare PlanWestbard preliminary recommendations, and present those to the Planning Board on March 19.
