Get Centered with Sweetbay Yoga & Be Yummy at Westwood Wednesdays
It’s time to get centered for the new school year. This week’s Westwood Wednesdays is pleased to feature Sweetbay Yoga, one of Westwood Shopping Centers newest businesses, and it’s teen and pre-teen yoga group Be Yummy.
Sweetbay Yoga, founded by Laurel Goeke, will lead yoga demonstrations to help participants of all ages learn techniques for mind and body wellness. Members of Be Yummy—which stands for Youth United through Mindfulness Meditation and Yoga—will also participate and share their enthusiasm for yoga.
“Sweetbay Yoga has grown from a neighborhood home practice to our cozy studio space at Westwood,” Goeke said. “We have something to offer everyone—yoga for all ages and levels, as well as great community events and gatherings. We are so happy to be part of the neighborhood.”
Bach to Rock Bethesda will also return to this week’s event—5 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Sept. 14—with more music activities for youngsters. And there will be free Popsicles for all while supplies last!
Say Cheese food truck will be serving up its gooey and yummy grilled cheese sandwiches, so come ready to buy dinner. Bringing this week’s music will be Shirkaday’s Joe and John with classic rock and pop spanning the years.
The fun begins Wednesday, Sept. 14, at 5 p.m. Look for the picnic tables and umbrellas in the upper lot near Rite Aid at Westwood Shopping Center, 5400 Westbard Ave., Bethesda. See you there!
